The journey continues
Chapter 1
The cars were moving slowly, traffic is always bad this time of the day, thought Lisa.Infact it was this time of the year that was causing traffic jam. She couldn't wait to get to her cousins in Port St Johns to welcome the new year and join in the festivities. After the year she had she needed to unwind and have fun. After losing her cousin who she referred to as her partner in crime she cut down on fun then as if that was not enough she had a miscarriage and broke up with her boyfriend. Life has been hard for this young girl until she met a handsome hunk on Christmas. Soon she could see those beautiful twin mountains signalling their entry to PSJ and her spirit lifted.
Her cousins were so excited to see her and they were hugging and kissing her. Time to leave the past where it belonged and have fun with her extended family. "What's your poison Li? I haven't seen you in a long time I wouldn't be surprised if it's juice" teased Anele as she disappeared into the kitchen. They all started laughing. "Red square girl. Don't act as if you don't know me". Anele came back with the drinks and the party started. The guys were outside braaing the meet and the music was blasting on the speakers. More people started coming and by midnight it was packed. As the fireworks started she felt someone holding her from behind in a warm embrace. It was Vuyo, the handsome guy she met on Christmas. They held each other for a long time then kissed. They didn't talk much as his friends came and dragged him away. It wasn't until 3 am that the girls decided to sleep.
Lisa spent two more days and left. The holidays were over and time to go back to work......
